Pizza Dough
To get the best results, let the pizza dough thaw in the refrigerator overnight (if you need it sooner, let it thaw on the counter top instead). Preheat the oven to 220 C (425 F), roll the dough out and place on a lightly greased baking sheet or use a pizza stone. Add your favourite toppings and off it goes into the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or adjust the time depending on how crusty you like your pizza.
Spelt Pie Crust or Gluten Free Pie Crust
Baking instructions: Our Wheat free Spelt Pie crust will bake like a “regular” crust made from wheat. Just follow the instructions in the recipe you are using, depending what kind of pie you are baking.
Shelf Life
Since we are not using any preservatives in our products shelf life is limited; to prolong shelf life freeze or refrigerate them and take out as needed. Freeze bread sliced in a plastic bag and then you can take out slice by slice; you can pop the frozen bread slice into the toaster and a moment later you’ll have nice and crispy bread.
Crusty Breads
Most of the flavours of the bread are in the crust, to really bring out that flavour we recommend to crispen up the crust of your bread. Preheat the oven to 200 C (400 F), place your unsliced bread in the oven and bake for 5-6 minutes. Once removed from the oven, let the bread rest a few minutes before you enjoy it. You can do the same with buns, just reduce the bake time slightly. Don’t reheat the bread twice, as this will dry it out.
Hot Pretzels
We have been making the official Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Pretzel for the last 15 years. Since Oktoberfest is only 10 days out of the year, we thought we would bring the spirit of Oktoberfest every noon to Grainharvest. Every day at noon freshly baked pretzels coming HOT out of the oven at our Lexington Road location.
Special Events
We offer our products at several local festivals, which often serve as fundraisers for the community.
